New album “Soul in Blue”

Hey friends, here’s a bit of news about what’s going on with my music. I’m super excited to announce the release of a brand new album coming May 2nd! SOUL IN BLUE, on DelmarkRecords.

It’s my first release since the Blues Music Award-nominated, Real Street, came out in 2019 on Severn Records. This time I’ve returned to my friends at Delmark, in Chicago, Illinois for the 10 new tracks. Huge thanks to Delmark’s, Elbio Barilari and Julia Miller, for agreeing to take me on as a project. And congratulations to them for surviving putting up with my high-strung antics over the last year making this one! (LOL). Sending big love to them, and to all of the players (22 of ‘em) who participated in this production. We recorded 6 of the tracks in Carmel, Indiana (a few streets outside of Indy) at Tranquility:base studio, under the steady guiding hand of engineer/owner Chris Leiber. The other 4 tracks were cut in Chicago at Delmark’s Riverside Studios with the Delmark All-Stars with Elbio and Julia in the control room producing and engineering.

If you have paid attention to what I do, you’ll recognize most of the names of the artists who joined me on Soul In Blue. So many of my favorite players and humans helped me make these songs come together. I hope you’ll enjoy hearing the album as much as we enjoyed the playing and singing.
